Miley Cyrus is ready to take her music back on the road. The teen superstar is in the planning process for a full-scale international tour, E! News confirms. Miley will kick off the tour on April 29 at Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa in Quito, Ecuador. Then she will take the show to Lima, Peru, at Explanada del Monumental, on May 1. The singer/actress, who has already begun a workout regime to prep for the tour, is set to announce more dates soon. There are no immediate plans for her to play shows in the United States. "Miley has a huge fanbase worldwide," a source told E! News. "She's pumped that her schedule has opened up and allowed her to perform for fans abroad." For those who might not be able to see her on tour, Cyrus has resumed tweeting. No, the star has not reinstated her account, like Demi Lovato, but instead will send messages from the Twitter account of production team Rock Mafia. Cyrus is attached to a big-screen adaptation of the group's music video for their track "The Big Bang," which she starred in with Kevin Zegers. "This is my new way to connect. When I need to speak out I will tweet from @Rock_Mafia ROCK MAFIA FOREVER. x MC," she tweeted, including a picture of herself and the group's Antonina Armato, who added, "Writing with Miley on a Rainy Sunday #Heaven!" Cyrus has been meeting with lots of music producers recently. Last week she met with "Party in the U.S.A." producer Dr. Luke. Sources tell MTV News that Miley is interested in writing more for other artists.

This year proved to be another amazing one for Taylor Swift. She just wrapped up the U.S. leg of her Speak Now Tour, released her new Wonderstruck perfume and unveiled her video for "Ours." But now, Swift has her sights set on an even bigger 2012.
Swift is gearing up to release her fourth album, and in an October interview, she revealed that her new songs were not about "moving on." So when MTV News caught up with the country star at the Billboard Women in Music event, we had to ask which emotions were triggering such a personal album. "I can't tell you, because it's a secret," Swift teased. "It will be unveiled when it all comes out, because they all seem to have a theme to them, the records that we've put out so far, and this one is no different. It's very different in what it's about, but it's no different in the fact that it has its own name." Swift was on hand at the event with another honoree, Nicki Minaj, who is also set to release her new album in 2012, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. "I love her," Swift said of Minaj. "One of my favorite moments of the tour was when she came out at the Staples Center and sang 'Super Bass' with me, which was, like, the coolest thing. It was like a dream come true, so it's amazing to get to run into her and see her around, and I'm just such a fan." So would Swift possibly collaborate with Minaj on her next album? Apparently, Lady Gaga made a little bit of money this year: She tops Forbes' list of Top-Earning Women in Music in 2011. Just how much did Gaga make this past year? According to the magazine, the singer netted $90 million thanks to sales of Born This Way, her massive Monster Ball Tour and a number of endorsement deals.
But she's not the only lady making bank this year. Coming in at #2 is Taylor Swift. The country/pop superstar managed to make $45 million over the past 12 months with the never-ending success of her Speak Now album (which she released back in 2010) and her tour of the same name. Nipping at her heels is Katy Perry. The Billboard record-holder amassed $44 million with continued singles from 2010's Teenage Dream and her California Dreams Tour. Perhaps the biggest surprise in the top five is Celine Dion. The Canadian singer comes in at #4 with $19 million in earnings. The singer's success is due in part to her Las Vegas stage show. Adele squeaked into the top five at #5 with $18 million, earned mostly from the album sales from her chart-dominating 21. Alicia Keys also makes the list; Forbes reports that the singer earned $10 million, beating out her hubby Swizz Beatz for the year by $3.5 million.
Forbes compiled the list using income earned from May 2010 through May 2011. It also used data from Pollstar and RIAA, as well as interviews with industry insiders and the musicians themselves. Many of the ladies on this list also landed on MTV's Songs of the Year countdown; Gaga's "Born This Way" comes in at #5 and Perry's "Firework" sits at #10. Jason Derulo Promises 'High-Energy' MTV New Year's Set
Singer will perform on MTV's 'NYE in NYC 2012' along with Mac Miller, Selena Gomez and J. Cole.

It's almost that time to ring in the new year, and what better way to do so than with MTV? "NYE in NYC 2012" will air live at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday from Times Square, hosted by Demi Lovato and Tyler Posey of "Teen Wolf."
Also on hand to count down will be some of music's biggest stars, including J. Cole, Mac Miller, Selena Gomez and Jason Derülo, who will be performing in our Times Square studios.
"I cannot think of another way to bring the new year in than with MTV." Derülo told MTV News. "I'm excited — new year, new beginnings."
Derülo plans to excite the crowd with two hit songs from his sophomore album, Future History, which was released earlier this year.
"I'll be doing 'It Girl' and 'Don't Wanna Go Home,' a medley of the two," Derülo revealed. "[There will] be a lot of high-energy dancing."
Derülo isn't just gearing up for his own performance, he's excited to see what his fellow performers have in store for the big night.
"It's going to be a crazy show, I hope you guys are tuning in because lots of great performers," Derülo said. "You have different flavors from all around."
Of course, with a new year comes a new resolution, so what will Derülo be doing differently in 2012? "Not being late to a lot of places." Derülo said. "I don't want to say I'm usually late; I'm fashionably late. I think being 20 minutes is a little too much, but if you're in the 15 margin, I think you're golden."

Winning? In what can only be described as one of the more bizarre friendships to originate on Twitter, Miley Cyrus and Charlie Sheen have formed something of a bond on the social networking site. Cyrus, who just recently returned to Twitter — she left back in 2009, telling followers it was at the suggestion of on-again, off-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth — has become one of the former "Two and a Half Men" star's record-breaking 3.4 million-plus followers. On Sunday, Cyrus tweeted from her new account, @gypsyhearttour: "Do not fear...the Sheenius is here!' I'm not gonna lie. I came back to twitter for 2 reasons. My fans and to follow Charlie Sheen." Since then, the 18-year-old has been trading tweets with the troubled 45-year-old actor, who is currently on the road with his shaky My Violent Torpedo of Truth tour. "Dear Miley, Welcome back to Twitter! Always felt you were epic! Now you proved it! Thanks for the love," Sheen wrote in response to Cyrus, to which she replied, "I always felt the same about you! You have taught me everything I know about WINNING. Duh!" Cyrus, who won the Favorite Movie Actress at the Kids' Choice Awards over the weekend, shared on Monday, "Makin dinner for my fam right now. Honey sesame chicken, garlic rice & salad. There's only one thing missing & that's Charlie Sheen." Cyrus even gave a shout-out to Conan O'Brien in one of her Sheen-based tweets, when she posted, "The only person that even comes close to winning as hard core as @charliesheen is @ConanOBrien =] I will see ya tonight @ 11 COB! TWEET ME!" Of course, this isn't the first time the former "Hannah Montana" star has caused a stir with her Twitter conversations. In October 2009, she aired out what was believed to be a fued with fellowDisney starlets Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. Cyrus posted a picture of herself with Lovato, who had become close to Gomez, and wrote, "Now this is what true friendship looks like. None of that hollywood crap. @ddlovato I miss you = ]" Cyrus also had a minor Twitter battle with ex-boyfriend Justin Gaston that year. In one post Gaston wrote, "People mistake stupidity for bravery way to easily." The "Party in the USA" singer then shot back, "Yeah. I love when people mistake bravery with writing a few stupid tweets trying to make it seem like they don't care. You're afraid to love." 'Dark Knight Rises' Star Anne Hathaway Talks Catwoman
'It's just a matter of doing your homework and getting underneath the character's skin,' actress says.

While it may feel like the trailers and photos from "The Dark Knight Rises" have shown us a lot from Christopher Nolan's third and supposed final trip to Gotham City, we have yet to see that much from Catwoman.
After spy photos from the set forced their hand, Warner Bros. released an early look at Anne Hathaway's take on Gotham's most notorious cat burglar astride the Batpod, but aside from that photo and her brief but enticing appearance in the theatrical trailer, Selina Kyle's role in "Rises" remains a mystery.
Hathaway did, however, open up to the L.A. Times' Hero Complex during a visit to the London set of "The Dark Knight Rises." She spoke at length about why she loves her so-far divisive costume and how her Catwoman fits into Nolan's Gotham.

When Warner Bros. released the first photo of Hathaway in full Catwoman attire, fan reaction ranged from full-fledged support to outright hatred. Hathaway has always stood by the costume's unusual take on the classic look, and she once again made her case to Hero Complex. "I love the costume because everything has a purpose," she said. "Nothing is in place for fantasy's sake, and that's the case with everything in Christopher Nolan's Gotham City."
Once Hathaway won the highly coveted role, she dove deep into research, taking in Catwoman's classic comic book appearance and the original inspirations Bob Kane and Bill Finger used to create the character. Hathaway said she drew inspiration from actress Hedy Lamarr to help shape her performance. "[Lamarr] takes these long, deep, languid breaths and exhales slowly," Hathaway said. "There's a shot of her in [the 1933 film] 'Ecstasy' exhaling a cigarette and I took probably five breaths during her one exhale. So I started working on my breathing a lot."
From there, a lot of the heavy lifting belonged to Nolan and his brother Jonathan, who co-wrote the script with the director. According to Hathaway, this Catwoman follows the pattern set by Nolan's other Gotham City residents. "You look at Heath's performance as the Joker, there was a lot of madness there but there was also a grace and he had a code there. There's a lot of belief and codes of behavior in Gotham and my character has one, too," she said. "A lot of the way she moves and interacts with people is informed by her worldview. Chris has given us all such complex, defined, sophisticated worldviews that it's just a matter of doing your homework and getting underneath the character's skin."

Lady Gaga, Madonna, Nicki Minaj Top 2012's Most Anticipated Albums
Mumford & Sons, Justin Bieber, Rick Ross also prepping new material.

The past 12 months have seen the release of monster albums from Adele, Lady Gaga, Drake, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
But the next 12 are promising to bring even more music from several of those artists, plus new albums from Mumford & Sons, Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Linkin Park, Paramore, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5 and Green Day.
It's a bumper crop of major albums from some of rock, pop and hip-hop's biggest stars, who are returning from long breaks, hoping to follow up smash debuts or just trying to keep their momentum going.
While release dates are always subject to change, here are some of the most anticipated releases of 2012.
Pop:
Ironically, the status of new albums from the artists whose next moves everyone is most curious about are the ones most in the air. Rihanna tends to deliver a new album every 12 or 13 months, which means that she may have another disc in stores at the end of next year once the just-released Talk That Talk has run its course.
On the other hand, Lady Gaga has already begun talking about her follow-up to this year's Born This Way. Gaga recently told MTV News that she's already started writing songs and "all the concepts are beginning to flourish and take place." She didn't give a potential release date, only promising, "I'll put it out when it's done."
Katy Perry hasn't publicly spoken about what will come after 2010's smash Teenage Dream, but it's possible she could start work on new material in 2012 as well. We know for sure that Justin Bieber is planning to show his more mature side next time around, possibly even incorporating some EDM sounds into the mix.
It's been confirmed that Madonna hooked up with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj for the single "Gimme All Your Luvin' " from her untitled forthcoming album, which will feature production from Ray of Light producer William Orbit.
Other artists who could release fresh material in 2012: No Doubt, Maroon 5, Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha and Nicole Scherzinger.
Hip-Hop:
Two titans of rap are cueing up fresh tracks for early 2012, with Nicki Minaj likely to get out of the gate first with her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, due out on Valentine's Day. The disc will include first single "Roman in Moscow," which sees the Best New Artist Grammy nominee getting into the character of her alter ego, Roman Zolanski.
After the delay of God Forgives, I Don't due to a pair of seizures he suffered in October, Rick Ross is expected to come back strong as well. The Bawse has taken his convalescent time to work on a new track with Jay-Z.
Speaking of Jigga, fans may get a new record from him as well, considering he told MTV News he was cooking up fresh tracks way back when he first played us songs from his Kanye West collaborative album, Watch the Throne. In fact, Jay-Z said you might get solo albums from both men as well as the second Throne release.
Other artists that should have albums hitting stores in 2012: Nas, Frank Ocean, Slaughterhouse, Wiz Khalifa, the G.O.O.D. Music compilation, T.I., Big Sean, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Big K.R.I.T., Meek Mill and potentially two discs from Lil Wayne, I Am Not a Human Being II and Rebirth II.
Rock:
Some of rock's biggest guns are reloading for 2012, among them Green Day, who debuted some new tracks at a benefit show in August. The title of the follow-up to 2009's 21st Century Breakdown hasn't been announced yet, but some of the early songs slated for possible inclusion are "Nuclear Family," "Carpe Diem" and "Sweet 16."
U2 have reportedly been cooking up a number of potential new albums, logging sessions with Danger Mouse and working with French producer/DJ David Guetta, RedOne and will.i.am on a disc of dance-oriented tunes.
Prog rock revivalists Muse should also have some new material for us, with bassist Chris Wolstenholme promising in a recent interview that the sound on their sixth album will be "radically different" from 2009's The Resistance.
We may get something from Linkin Park, who are prepping the follow-up to 2010's A Thousand Suns, and Mumford & Sons. It's been two years since the British folk rock revivalists dropped their still strong-selling debut, Sigh No More, and they began giving fans a taste of some new material in the fall when they unveiled the majestic song "Ghosts."
After a rough year, Paramore have finally put the drama behind them and they're super-psyched to record an album free of tension and inter-band awkwardness. So far, they've already unwrapped the bouncy "Renegade" and "Hello Cold World," which bode well for their fourth full-length studio album.
Other rock acts slated to release new albums: the reunited Soundgarden, Foster the People, Neon Trees, Sleigh Bells, Silversun Pickups, Bruce Springsteen and All-American Rejects.

Miley Cyrus Surprises Lauren Alaina On 'American Idol'1662829

Superstars swing through the hallways of "American Idol" on a weekly basis, but on Wednesday (April 27), Lauren Alaina was greeted by one of her very own idols. Miley Cyrus surprised the finalist with an impromptu visit during her mentoring session.
With the assistance of Babyface and Jimmy Iovine, Alaina's weekly training session was running smoothly as she rehearsed her cover of Carole King's "Where You Lead." "About halfway through my meeting with Jimmy, he had a big surprise for me," Alaina gushed to viewers in a pre-taped segment on the show. "Miley Cyrus walks in. I was like [jaw drops open] ... she was so nice and she gave me such great advice." With her long curly locks and dressed in an all-black ensemble, Cyrus offered a hug to the aspiring songstress and shared a few friendly words of advice. "I listen to your music all the time. You're awesome," the "Hannah Montana" star told the 16-year-old. "The most important thing you can do is just do it for yourself because you will always have mean comments. People will always talk about you and that's never going to change." Alaina's impromptu visit from Miley seemed to have boosted her confidence for Wednesday night's performance. From those high-hitting notes to her inviting a male audience member onstage, the contestant playfully strutted, ending her performance with a chuckle. News of Cyrus' surprise appearance on "Idol" hit the Internet early Wednesday morning when E! Online reported that Iovine asked the superstar to be a mentor as a result of a remark he'd made earlier in the competition. A few weeks back, Alaina chose to sing Cyrus' hit song "The Climb," which led Iovine to tell the contestant she was "a much stronger singer than Miley Cyrus." From young love to established romantic empires, 2011 was all about PDA. Some of La La Land's most A-list couples weren't shy about flaunting the love they share. From musicians to actors to everyone in between, the last 12 months were all about sharing the love. As the year winds down, MTV News is reflecting on some of our favorite couples of the year.

The couple walked red carpets, gave each other shout-outs at awards shows and even got naked together in Britney's "Criminal" video, but it wasn't until December that they decided to make it official. Beyonce Fans Weigh In On Baby's Anticipated Arrival
From the birth date to the sex of the baby, fans share their thoughts with MTV News.

It's almost here, and no, we're not talking about New Year's. Here at MTV News we're waiting patiently for an even bigger event: the birth of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's baby.
And depending on whom you ask, Queen Bey's little prince or princess might be here sooner than any of us thought. According to various media reports, Beyoncé may even be in labor right now.
Rumors that the 4 songstress, who was one of MTV's top Newsmakers of 2011, was set to give birth Wednesday (December 28) first surfaced on Media Takeout, with two nurses at New York's Saint Luke's Roosevelt Hospital allegedly telling the celebrity gossip site that they were informed last night that a "celebrity VIP" who had reserved half of the hospital's luxury labor and delivery floor would be arriving to give birth Wednesday.
There has been no confirmation that the rumored VIP is indeed Beyoncé, and representatives for the star did not immediately respond when asked for comment.
Fans of the "Countdown" singer and her hip-hop mogul husband are starting to get very excited about baby Jayoncé. When MTV News took to the streets of New York to ask Bey's fans their thoughts on when they expect the baby to make its debut and whether it will be a boy or a girl, they had plenty to say.
Most of Bey's fans told us they expected the baby to be born in January, with one perhaps astute fan zeroing in on New Year's Day, saying, "I think Beyoncé's baby will be born sometime in January, maybe on the first."
We found only one dissenter on the chilly streets of NYC, and he seemed to have the best knowledge of past public statements from the couple, including an early-September interview with Beyoncé that announced that the baby was actually due in February. "I trust Jay Z, I think he's a good guy," the fan said. "Him and Beyoncé are a good couple, so they wouldn't lie to the public. So Beyoncé's baby is going to be born in February."
And nearly all of the fans we surveyed believe the power couple is expecting a baby girl. Perhaps they caught wind of de facto auntie Kelly Rowland's slip of the lip on a London red carpet in early November, where the former Destiny's Child singer said, "I have no idea what I'm going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won't be spoiled, but she will be very well looked-after."
One fan was particularly excited for a baby girl because she hoped the babe picked up Beyoncé's good genes. "Hopefully a girl," she told MTV News. "Probably because I'm a fan of Beyoncé's looks."
One thing all could agree on was that Jay and Bey's bundle of joy would jump right to the top of the celebrity baby power list. "A power baby, obviously," one fan said, while another added, "It's gonna be a pretty cool baby, that's for sure. Probably gonna run New York City by the time he's 13 or 14."
