<P>Giving new meaning to the phrase "throw it up against the wall and see what sticks," the roster of A and B-list stars reportedly in the mix to spice up the judging panels and take over hosting duties on <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/topic/american_idol/">"American Idol"</a> and "X Factor" multiplied by a factor of 10 on Tuesday (July 10).</P><P>We've already told you that former "Idol" runner-up <a href="/news/articles/1689286/adam-lambert-american-idol-judge-rumors.jhtml">Adam Lambert</a>
 is reportedly being eyed to join the panel for the 12th season of the show. We're not sure yet who he'd replace on the three-person panel, but Jennifer Lopez is rumored to be on her way out along with fellow two-season vet Steven Tyler. Even lone wolf "Idol" OG Randy Jackson is said to be on the potential chopping block as the show looks to shake things up to compete with the fresher celeb faces on "Factor" and "The Voice."</P><P><a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/328622/american-idol-miley-cyrus-katy-perry-nicki-minaj-fergie-and-will-i-am-being-considered-as-judges" target="_blank"><I>E! Online</I></a> tossed a few more huge names into the big names into the hopper on Monday by quoting unnamed sources saying that Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Fergie and will.i.am are also being considered for the vacancies.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Who Should Be A Judge On 'American Idol' Season 12?" id="vid:815352 " width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>A spokesperson for "Idol" did not return requests for comment on the report at press time, but an "Idol" insider told the site, "no one has signed any contracts yet and producers are currently putting out feelers and setting up meetings to see who they can get ... we won't know if Randy [Jackson] and Steven [Tyler] are returning until they see who else is on board."</P><P>It seems unlikely that such currently red-hot stars as Perry and Minaj would put everything on hold to spend half a year or more attending rehearsals, tapings and live shows for "Idol." Cyrus is also not likely to put off her recording and movie career to join the "Idol" family, but with the Black Eyed Peas on hiatus and their solo careers in a holding pattern Fergie and frequent "Idol" mentor will.i.am could be legitimate contenders.</P><P>This type of bold-name speculation takes place just about every summer.  were said to be circling a gig on former "Idol" lead judge Simon Cowell's "X Factor." Britney, of course, ended up signing on the dotted line, along with Demi Lovato, but "Factor" still has one vacancy to fill: host.</P><P>Actually, make that <a href="/news/articles/1679730/x-factor-new-judges-hosts.jhtml"><I>two</I> spots</a>

Following the ouster of Steve Jones after the first season, Cowell is looking for one female and one male host to anchor the show and the alleged list of potential chatters is impressive, and a bit random.</P><P><a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/328798/x-factor-considering-khlo-kardashian-odom-stacy-keibler-and-more-as-possible-hosts" target="_blank"><I>E!</I> also reported</a> that the not-so-short list ranges from George Clooney's girlfriend Stacy Keibler to Khloé Kardashian Odom, Kelly Osbourne, Mario Lopez, sportscaster Erin Andrews and BET's Terrence J.</P><P>An unnamed source told the site that Cowell is in no hurry to fill those vacancies. "They're doing the auditions without a host so it's no big deal they don't have hosts right now," the source said. "Simon really wants to take his time. Miley Cyrus Planning 'Sexy' Album Before Marrying Liam Hemsworth
Sources say Miley is working on music that is 'very adult and sexy and believable.'

<P>Miley Cyrus is hard at work on her fourth studio album. And while she attempted to branch out into a more adult sound on 2010's <i>Can't Be Tamed,</i> sources say this next studio release will be "very adult and sexy" and, more importantly, "believable."</P><P>Sources tell <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/miley_cyrus_very_adult_sexy_new_album/321638" target="_blank">E! News</a> that the former Disney princess, who just announced her <a href="/news/articles/1686645/miley-cyrus-liam-hemsworth-engaged.jhtml">engagement to Liam Hemsworth</a>, is "having fun making music for the first time in her career." She's reportedly sexing things up with producers Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy, recording music in Miami and Los Angeles. The insider continues, "We are watching a young girl turn into a young woman."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Liam Hemsworth Gives Miley Cyrus Blessing To See 'Hunger Games'" id="vid:751077" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Cyrus is also taking <i>other</i> steps towards a more mature sound. She's working with music manager Bruce Flohr of Red Light Management and is no longer with the manager she had when she was closely associated with Disney. The source adds that people in her camp are referring to the musical move as "Miley 2.0."</P><P>The fact that Miley is focused on her career might make her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, happy. Sources tell <a href="http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2012/06/miley-cyrus-engagement-dad-billy-ray-not-happy" target="_blank">Radar Online</a> that he's hoping his 19-year-old daughter won't rush to the altar. The source adds that neither Billy Ray nor Miley's mother, Tish, was surprised by the engagement. In fact, Hemsworth asked for their permission before he popped the question.</P><P>"They knew it was coming," the Radar source said. "Liam lived with Miley and her parents when they began dating in 2009. Billy Ray and Tish love him like a son. However, Billy Ray is concerned about how young they are and he hopes that they aren't in a rush to get married. Billy Ray hopes the engagement will be very long, but he isn't opposed to the marriage at all. Billy Ray got divorced from his first wife Cindy, though, and he just doesn't want Miley to go through a similar heartbreak."</P><P>The same day the news broke, Billy Ray tweeted his congratulations to his little girl, writing, "All I ever hoped for as a Daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams. Taylor Swift Has 'Cool News' For Fans On Monday
The 'Speak Now' singer will host an online Q&A session August 13, where she will share the news.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml">Taylor Swift</a> has some big news for her Swifties, but those fans will have to wait almost a week to hear what the country star has to share with them.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Taylor Swift Learning With New Album" id="vid:733489" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>The singer announced on Tuesday (August 7) that she will be doing a live webcast on Monday (August 13) at 7 p.m. ET. The event will go down on her official YouTube channel. The date of the livestream is hardly a coincidence as <a href="/news/articles/1610839/taylor-swift-explains-why-13-her-lucky-number.jhtml">13 just so happens to be Swift's lucky number</a>.</P><P>"Hey, it's Taylor. So I really want to talk to you about something. I would love it if you would join me August 13 for a live webchat," she said in a video tease posted online. "You can ask questions. I want to share some news with you, some really cool news. Not gonna go into it too much, but it's cool. I'll see you there."</P><P>Fans who want to get in on the action can ask Swift questions through a live social chat that will take place during the stream. Additionally, there will be a Google+ Hangout created around the event.</P><P>Given that Swift has been hard at work on her <a href="/news/articles/1679271/taylor-swift-safe-and-sound.jhtml">follow-up to 2010's chart-topping <i>Speak Now</i></a>, it seems likely that Swift's "really cool news" has something to do with some new music.</P><P>She has worked with folks like British singer/songwriter <a href="/news/articles/1690511/taylor-swift-ed-sheeran-collaborate.jhtml">Ed Sheeran on the release</a>, and when MTV News last caught up with the singer at the top of 2012, she explained that this album will show her growth as an artist.</P><P>"I made my last album, <i>Speak Now</i>, with this idea I really wanted to make an album without writing with anyone else just because I always wanted to do that. And now I have a different approach to this record. I'm getting to work with people that I've always wanted to work with." That means that she's seeking out some assistance "from all different places in music."</P><P>"I'm trying to be as much of a sponge as possible," she explained. "You have to evolve and try new things and change and that's what I've loved to do with this album."</P><P>While some of what she's putting out may sound different, there will remain one central Swift-ism that remains. She will be writing about the ups and downs of love.</P><P>"I think that love is always going to be a huge theme in what I write about just because there are no two similar relationships, there are no two times that you feel love the same way or hurt the same way or [feel] rejection [in] the same way. It's all different and I'm fascinated by that," she said. "I really love to go back to human interaction and the way we make each other feel. But that at 22 is different than it was at 18 or 19 when I made my last album and 16 and 17 when I made <i>Fearless</i>. Justin Bieber's 'As Long As You Love Me' Video Debuts Today!

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> is set to release his highly anticipated music video for his latest <i>Believe</i> track, "As Long as You Love Me," on Wednesday (August 1). The clip for the swirling club jam appears to have all the components of a memorable video. From the cast to the director, Bieber has enlisted some A-list talent to help make something that could be very, very epic.</P><P>Fans first started looking forward to the video when Bieber announced the song would be his next <a href="/news/articles/1688450/justin-bieber-next-single-as-long-as-you-love-me.jhtml">single back in June</a>, riding high off the release of his chart-topping album. And while his <a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/">VMA</a>-nominated video for "Boyfriend" was light on concept — focusing more on Bieber, cars and pretty people — once a still from the new clip hit the Web weeks later, Beliebers knew that things were set to get much more remarkable.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber Proving His Haters Wrong With 'Good Music'" id="vid:793035.id:1687833" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Earlier this month, the singer dropped the image from the Anthony Mandler-directed video. In it, the 18-year-old <a href="/news/articles/1689686/justin-bieber-bloody-as-long-as-you-love-me-video.jhtml">pop stud appeared bloodied and bruised</a>. At the time, little was known about what the video would be about, but Mandler did share that "It's a story of love.... #believe." Big Sean, who appears on the song, also tweeted about being on set with Bieber for the clip. Usher, will.i.am and Asher Roth all stopped by the set, Bieber wrote. No word on if they made the final cut of the video.</P><P>Then, just as news from the "ALAYLM" video began to slow down, Bieber revealed that <a href="/news/articles/1690266/justin-bieber-michael-madsen-as-long-as-you-love-me-video.jhtml">"Kill Bill" actor Michael Madsen</a> would be making a cameo in the clip. His role remained a secret, but that secret was unearthed last week when a <a href="/news/articles/1690699/justin-bieber-michael-madsen-as-long-as-you-love-me-video-teaser.jhtml">teaser for the video</a> dropped. In it, Madsen plays the overprotective dad of Bieber's love interest. In the intro for the visual, the actor warns the singer to stay away, or else. Judging from the looks of it, Bieber isn't planning to leave his lady love anytime soon.</P><P>The full video drops Wednesday, and that's when fans will learn if Bieber has abided by Madsen's rules or if he sets out to prove that love conquers all.</P><P><i>Do you think Justin will defend love in the "As Long as You Love Me" video? <P>Her brand-new <a href="http://posting.mtv.com/news/articles/1691744/taylor-swift-never-ever-get-back-together.jhtml">single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,"</a> is an amped-up kiss-off to an ex that features a big sing-along chorus, but <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml">Taylor Swift</a> says creating the song was actually one of the more "hilarious" experiences she's had.</P><P>In an interview set to air this fall, Swift told ABC News' <a href="http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/taylor-swift-reveals-album-red-drops-single-never-235206234--abc-news-celebrities.html" target="_blank">"Nightline"</a> that she was in the studio with producers <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/martin_max/artist.jhtml">Max Martin</a> and Johan Shellback on her upcoming album, <a href="/news/articles/1691703/taylor-swift-red-album.jhtml"><i>Red,</i></a> when the friend of an ex-boyfriend (Swift didn't want to name him) walked in.</P><P><iframe width="420" height="260" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/P6gFma4H7fA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></P><P>"[My friend] starts talking about how he's heard [my ex and I] were getting back together and that was not the case," Swift says in the teaser clip. "When he leaves, Max and Johan are like, 'So what's the story behind that?' And so I start telling them the story of 'break up, get back together, break up, get back together,' just, <i>ugh,</i> the worst."</P><P>The trio quickly realized that story had to be a song. "Max says, 'This is what we're writing; we're writing this song,' " Swift recalls. "And I picked up the guitar and just started singing 'we are never.' It just happened so fast. It was so much fun."</P><P>While the empowering message isn't new for Swift, the lead single might sound a little different to her hard-core fans, thanks to her hooking up with <i>Red</i>'s lead producer, Martin, the go-to guy for pop superstars like Britney Spears ("Hold It Against Me," "Till The World Ends"), Katy Perry ("Part of Me," "Teenage Dream") and Justin Bieber ("Beauty and the Beat").</P><P>And Martin has not only made time for mega-star Taylor. Miley Cyrus Engaged To Liam Hemsworth

<P>Sometimes on-set romances blossom into the real thing. That's clearly the case with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/cyrus__miley/artist.jhtml">Miley Cyrus</a> and <a href="">"Hunger Games"</a>
star <a href="">Liam Hemsworth</a>
, who announced on Wednesday (June 6) that they are engaged.</P><P>"I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," Cyrus, 19, told <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20601230,00.html" target="_blank"><I>People</I></a> magazine. The couple have been dating for three years since meeting on the set of "The Last Song" in 2009. Australian actor Hemsworth, 22, Cyrus' co-star in that film, proposed to the pop country star on May 31 with a 3.5-carat diamond ring. Earlier this year the couple denied that they were <a href="/news/articles/1681751/miley-cyrus-engaged-liam-hemsworth.jhtml">planning a wedding</a>

 in August 2010, a reconciliation and then another split later that year and a second reunion in April 2011.</P><P>In an interview with <I>Details</I> magazine earlier this year, Hemsworth said he tried to be professional on the set of "Last Song," but could not help falling in love with his co-star. "What happened happened, and we've been together ever since," he said. "She makes me really happy. Teen Choice Awards Belong To Justin Bieber, 'Hunger Games'
Taylor Swift and 'Vampire Diaries' also score multiple awards during Sunday's show.

<P>Justin Bieber, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and the casts of "Twilight" and "The Hunger Games" are all proud owners of brand-new surfboards after coming away winners at Sunday's (July 22) <a href="/news/articles/1690174/teen-choice-awards-winners-list.jhtml">Teen Choice Awards</a>.</P><P>The 14th annual awards show was hosted by Demi Lovato and "Glee" star Kevin McHale and featured a host of multiple winners from across the entertainment landscape. It also saw <a href="/news/articles/1690173/justin-bieber-teen-choice-awards-performance.jhtml">performances by Bieber</a>, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida and <a href="/news/articles/1690171/no-doubt-teen-choice-awards-performance.jhtml">No Doubt, who gave their first televised performance</a> of their new single "Settle Down."</P><P>Awards were voted on by fans, who cast a total of 134 million votes, Lovato reported during the show.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber And Big Sean Get Down At Teen Choice Awards" id="vid:817411.id:1690172" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Bieber, who performed a medley of "Boyfriend" and "As Long as You Love Me" — the latter featuring an assist from Big Sean — was named Choice Male Artist. "For me?" he said after being handed his surfboard trophy. He proceeded to thank his fans and said he hoped <i>Believe</i> was "everything that you guys waited for. I hope you guys are playing it over and over again, and this is just a reminder to everybody in here: Believe. Thank you," he said.</P><P>Bieber's better half, Selena Gomez, was awarded Choice Music Group along with her band, Selena Gomez & the Scene. Gomez accepted on behalf of her bandmates. "This is the best birthday present ever!" said Gomez, who turned 20 on Sunday. Kevin Hart then led the crowd in a sing-along of "Happy Birthday" to the star.</P><P>Swift was named Choice Female Artist and was also given Choice Single by a Female Artist ("Eyes Open"), Choice Country Song ("Sparks Fly"), Choice Female Country Artist and Choice Movie Voice (for Audrey in "Dr. Suess' The Lorax"). The five awards brought her career total to 20 Teen Choice Awards. "This is a really, really huge award, and I'm so excited and I just feel so honored that I get to have you guys in my life," she said to her fans. "I'm so happy right now, thank you so much. And thank you to Teen Choice for giving teens a chance to vote for something, because I love getting these!"</P><P>The "Twilight" saga was given the evening's Ultimate Choice award, bringing the series total to more than 40 Teen Choice Awards. Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner accepted on the movie's behalf. Lautner called it "an extreme honor," and Pattison and Stewart gave it up to the fans, literally, by handing their surfboards over to members of the audience.</P><P>"The Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson was named Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and was quite proud of his new trophy. "I've always wanted to own my own surfboard, so now I have one. This is awesome!" he said. "The Hunger Games" was also named Choice Book and Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Hutcherson and co-star Jennifer Lawrence were given Choice Lip Lock honors.</P><P>One Direction were not on hand to accept their awards for Choice Summer Music Star: Group, Choice Music Breakout Group or Choice Love Song (for "What Makes You Beautiful"), but they sent in a humorous video of themselves receiving the surfboard award by mail.</P><P>"The Vampire Diaries" and its cast picked up a handful of awards, including Choice TV Show Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Choice TV Actor Sci-Fi/Fantasy (for Ian Somerholder), and Somerholder also won for Choice Hottie: Male. (Miley Cyrus, who wasn't on hand, won Choice Hottie: Female, along with Choice Fashion Icon: Female.) When accepting his Choice Hottie award, Somerholder thanked his fans and said he loves them all "each individually."</P><P>Zac Efron, a multiple winner for "The Lucky One" (he picked up Choice Movie Actor: Drama and Choice Movie Actor: Romance, while "The Lucky One" won Choice Movie: Drama), also thanked his fans, whom he called "the best fans in the world."</P><P>Jonah Hill gets credit for reaching outside the show's target demographic to poke fun at 82-year-old Oscar winner Christopher Plummer while picking up the Choice Movie: Comedy award for "21 Jump Street." "I got nominated for an Oscar earlier this year, and I lost to a guy named Christopher Plummer, who's an older, fantastic actor. And I'd just like to point out that he's not nominated for anything tonight. So I'm better."</P><P>Choice Comedian winner Ellen DeGeneres poked fun at the awards show's surfboard theme when picking up her award, her fourth. "What does [the surfboard] have to do with anything?" she asked.</P><P>But her frequent guests <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/10/12/nicki-minaj-super-bass-youtube/">Sophia Grace and Rosie</a> weren't complaining. The Brits were handed mini-surfboards for the title of Choice Web Star, and the YouTube sensations were beaming. "This is so brilliant!" said Sophia Grace.
