Remake of 2008 French film finds Cyrus seeking revenge on a cheating ex-boyfriend.

It's been a long time coming for <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/cyrus__miley/artist.jhtml">Miley Cyrus'</a> remake of the 2008 French film <a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/493415/moviemain.jhtml">"LOL."</A> Since the announcement back in 2010 that the film is being <a href="/news/articles/1651097/miley-cyrus-movie-lol-picked-up-by-distributor.jhtml">distributed by Lionsgate</a>, news on the movie has been lacking. Well, not anymore, Cyrus fans. On Tuesday, the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P6mXZzY9nc&feature=related" target="_blank">official trailer</a> for the film dropped, which gives fans a preview of what the movie has in store. In a generation that spends more time updating the world about their problems than their families, 17-year-old Lola's (Cyrus) status is constantly changing. As an attempt to get back at her — now ex — boyfriend Chad for cheating on her with Ashley (<a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/1014864/personmain.jhtml">Ashley Greene</A>), Lola starts seeing his best friend, Kyle (<a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/1153160/personmain.jhtml">Douglas Booth</a>). Her life begins to spiral downward as her grades drop while she experiments with drugs and sex, and a divorce has her mom completely oblivious to it all. Soon she starts to fall for Kyle and things get even more complicated. The trailer is a great peek at the teen drama, and we have the five key scenes from it. <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:702404/cp~vid%3D702404%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A702404" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> <big>EX-Boyfriend</big> The trailer begins with Lola's voice over: "Every year it's weird going back to school, but here we are just going with the flow, trying to love and laugh out loud." She abruptly stops laughing when she calls out Chad on not texting her throughout the summer and he admits he hooked up with Lola's rival Ashley. She acts like she doesn't care, but as soon as she enters her room she begins crying on her bed. This emotional scene sets up the rest of the trailer. <big>A New Beginning</big> Lola quickly gets over her failed romance as she begins hanging out with Chad's best friend Kyle. A montage begins of their new friendship as they share a lollipop, rock out on an air guitar and come this close to kissing by his car. Everything is even more wonderful when he tells her, "You're amazing." We imagine audiences will quickly become fans of Booth. <big>"I can't believe I ever dated you!"</big> But the puppy love comes to a halt when Lola begins her sexual awakening. It seems rumors begin circulating when Chad says to Lola in the school courtyard, "Now that you're giving it up I figured maybe I could get some." The next scene shows Lola lashing out and pushing him into a gate screaming, "I can't believe I ever dated you!" The trailer isn't clear on what exactly causes the outburst, but we're betting it's pretty bad judging by Lola's reaction. <big>Trouble In Paradise?</big> As it turns out, Chad's comment is just the beginning of situations that spiral out of Lola's control. The next few scenes show a fight with her mom about her grades dropping and a drunken make-out session with Kyle. Her life gets even worse as she witnesses Kyle walking with his arm around Ashley. When she confronts him about it, he denies it and she spits out, "You're disgusting." But we already knew Greene's character would cause a stir when <a href="/news/articles/1672737/ashley-greene-lol-demi-moore.jhtml">Demi Moore told MTV News</a> "she's really saucy." <big>"Status can change, but true love remains the same."</big> Throughout the next montage of scenes, we see "status can change, but true love remains the same" typed out across the screen as Kyle dedicates a song to Lola and she makes up with her mom. Finally, as a smiling Kyle rests his head on an equally happy Lola, the trailer leaves us with the feeling that despite the craziness of high school, everything will work out for Lola in the end. Miley Cyrus And Charlie Sheen Trade 'Epic' Posts On Twitter

Winning? In what can only be described as one of the more bizarre friendships to originate on Twitter, <a href="/music/artist/cyrus__miley/artist.jhtml">Miley Cyrus</a> and Charlie Sheen have formed something of a bond on the social networking site. <a href="http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2011/04/04/miley-cyrus-rejoins-twitter">Cyrus, who just recently returned to Twitter</a> — she left back in 2009, telling followers it was at the suggestion of on-again, off-again boyfriend <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/468023/9-miley-cyrus-quits-twitter.jhtml">Liam Hemsworth</a> — has become one of the former <a href="/news/articles/1659017/charlie-sheen-twitter.jhtml">"Two and a Half Men" star's</a> record-breaking 3.4 million-plus followers. On Sunday, Cyrus <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/gypsyhearttour/status/54670570926768129" target="_blank">tweeted</a> from her new account, @gypsyhearttour: "Do not fear...the Sheenius is here!' I'm not gonna lie. I came back to twitter for 2 reasons. My fans and to follow Charlie Sheen." Since then, the 18-year-old has been trading tweets with the troubled 45-year-old actor, who is currently on the road with his shaky <a href="/news/articles/1661215/charlie-sheen-torpedo-of-truth-tour.jhtml">My Violent Torpedo of Truth</a> tour. "Dear Miley, Welcome back to Twitter! Always felt you were epic! Now you proved it! Thanks for the love," Sheen wrote in response to Cyrus, to which she replied, "I always felt the same about you! You have taught me everything I know about WINNING. Duh!" Cyrus, who won the Favorite Movie Actress at the <a href="/news/articles/1661191/kids-choice-awards.jhtml">Kids' Choice Awards</a> over the weekend, shared on Monday, "Makin dinner for my fam right now. Honey sesame chicken, garlic rice & salad. There's only one thing missing & that's Charlie Sheen." Cyrus even gave a shout-out to Conan O'Brien in one of her Sheen-based tweets, when she posted, "The only person that even comes close to winning as hard core as @charliesheen is @ConanOBrien =] I will see ya tonight @ 11 COB! TWEET ME!" Of course, this isn't the first time the former "Hannah Montana" star has caused a stir with her Twitter conversations. In October 2009, she aired out what was believed to be a fued with fellow<a href="http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2009/10/05/whats-up-with-miley-cyrus-and-demi-lovato-trading-blows-on-twitter-could-it-be-about-selena">Disney starlets Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez</a>. Cyrus posted a picture of herself with Lovato, who had become close to Gomez, and wrote, "Now this is what true friendship looks like. None of that hollywood crap. @ddlovato I miss you = ]" Cyrus also had a minor Twitter battle with <a href="/news/articles/1613544/miley-cyrus-and-justin-gaston-have-split-up-sources-say.jhtml">ex-boyfriend Justin Gaston</a> that year. In one post Gaston wrote, "People mistake stupidity for bravery way to easily." The "Party in the USA" singer then shot back, "Yeah. I love when people mistake bravery with writing a few stupid tweets trying to make it seem like they don't care. You're afraid to love." Singer rules out revenge on Justin after he made her believe she had ruined a couple's wedding day.

On the season premiere of <a href="/news/articles/1682164/justin-bieber-carly-rae-jepsen-punkd.jhtml">"Punk'd" on March 29</a>, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> had some fun pulling pranks on his pals Sean Kingston, Rob Dyrdek, Miley Cyrus and <a href="/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml">Taylor Swift</a>. Swift's punk was particularly memorable, as the singer was left in tears after Bieber made her believe she ruined a wedding. The premise: Bieber and his pal, Ryan Good, talked her into launching off a special firecracker that was sent to them. That firecracker launched off farther than they could have expected and set a boat on fire. That boat had a wedding party on it. And, Swift believed she ruined a couple's big day. Like, he'd figure it out, then turn the tables on me and then it would be Justin: two, Taylor: zero." All eyes were on Swift throughout the specially designed prank, eyes that she later learned included the youngest members of the First Family when she caught up with Sasha and Malia at the Kids' Choice Awards. "They told me they saw the 'Punk'd' episode, so now I know they've seen me absolutely traumatized and terrified, so that was good." Miley Cyrus 'Can't Wait' To See 'Hunger Games'

'I have to try and keep my cool,' the singer/songwriter told MTV News about her excitement over boyfriend Liam Hemsworth's new movie.

Katniss Everdeen might be the girl who set Gale Hawthorne's heart ablaze, but the man who plays the heroine's fellow District 12 denizen — Australian actor Liam Hemsworth — has a love life sparked by a different flame. We're talking about none other than Hemsworth's longtime girlfriend <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/cyrus__miley/artist.jhtml">Miley Cyrus</a>, of course, who hit the "<a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/422817/moviemain.jhtml">Hunger Games</a>" world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday (March 12) in full force to support her boyfriend's work on the film. Though Miley herself isn't a well-studied "Hunger Games" fan, she has some good reasons to have stayed away from the source material until the big premiere. <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:748699/cp~vid%3D748699%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A748699" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> "I've only read through them with Liam when he was working on [the movie]," Cyrus told MTV News about her familiarity with the "Hunger Games" books. "I tried to keep it pretty separate and not turn myself into too much of a fan. But it's going to be hard probably; after watching this film, I'm going to be dying to see the next two. But I have to try and keep my cool!" But even without having read the "Hunger Games," Cyrus can't entirely escape the fanfare surrounding the Gary Ross-directed movie. Even she has a specific scene she can't wait to see — and surprisingly, it has absolutely nothing to do with Liam. "There's this scene with [lead actress Jennifer Lawrence] when she comes out in this amazing dress when they present her; that's the one thing I know," said Cyrus, referring to Katniss' famous "girl on fire" appearance. "I know [the whole movie] is not about that, but I can't wait to see that part! I'm dying over it already. I know that's the silliest girl thing and nobody is probably looking forward to that dress except me." Cyrus is definitely not the only person looking forward to the girl on fire, but despite her budding fandom, don't expect the "Hannah Montana" star to catch fire herself anytime soon. When asked, Cyrus said there's very little chance that fans will see her in "Catching Fire" or "Mockingjay," the planned follow-ups to this year's "Hunger Games." "I don't think so," she answered when asked about whether or not she'd appear in a sequel. "I don't think so!" Taylor Swift To Play Joni Mitchell?

Country superstar is linked to the role in the film adaptation of Sheila Weller's book 'Girls Like Us.'

It turns out voicing <a href="/news/articles/1680099/taylor-swift-lorax.jhtml">Audrey in "The Lorax"</a> and playing a shallow, high school cheerleader in "Valentine's Day" were just the opening roles in <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml">Taylor Swift</a>'s budding acting career. The Grammy-winning artist is linked to the role of Joni Mitchell in the film adaptation of Sheila Weller's book "Girls Like Us," <a href="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118052905" target="_blank">Variety</a> reports. The biography maps the lives of three of the most influential female musicians in America: Carole King, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell. In an attempt to capture the life of women in the 1970s, Weller tells these artists' three unique stories. King is the daughter of a middle-class New York family, living in one of the city's outer boroughs. Simon is the product of Manhattan's intellectual elite. The role of Mitchell sounds like a part she would want to take on. "I love the idea that you can tell a story in that way," the singer gushed. "I've been reading scripts for about five years. In my free time, that's all I do is read scripts." But she isn't in a rush to choose just any role. "I just want to make decisions really carefully. I think, with movies, it's really important that you have to love something so much that you cannot think about anything else," she continued. "If you're going to become someone else, that's a huge deal. That's a huge commitment, and I would want to have the time and the ability and the love for something and the love for a character to where I could really make that commitment to it." Swift would certainly have some of the background knowledge it takes to play Mitchell, being a musician herself. While Sony Pictures has not made Swift an official offer, other actresses have already auditioned &#8212 including Alison Pill ("Midnight in Paris") — for the role of King. Variety also reported that Katie Jacobs, executive producer of "House," is directing the script penned by John Sayles, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to produce. The biopic is still waiting to be green-lit, but the tentative start of production is later this year. Rihanna Teases 'Badass' Role In 'Battleship'

'We did training just before the shoot, speeding the boat, turning, learning how to shoot and handle the weapon,' singer-turned-actress tells MTV.

There are only a few more hours until Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna and Brooklyn Decker will hit our airwaves for "MTV First: 'Battleship' " to premiere an exclusive clip from their buzzworthy summer blockbuster. In the meantime, we are happy to hold you eager fans over with a snippet from our interview with Rihanna about the film.

"I wanted to do something badass but I didn't imagine it would be grungy, like straight Navy soldier, no makeup," Rihanna said of her expectations for her first movie role. "I enjoyed it. We did training just before the shoot, speeding the boat, turning, learning how to shoot and handle the weapon, and two hours later we were shooting that scene."

The "Talk That Talk" singer has received nothing but rave reviews for her work in the film.

"She was great," director Peter Berg told MTV News of Rihanna's acting chops. "She has a very strong part. I was surprised no one had ever thought to hire Rihanna," he added. "I was a huge fan of her videos. Obviously she's sexy, but she had this real intensity. I'm like, 'Someone's going to get her.'

The singer was spotted over the weekend in Los Angeles shooting more scenes from the highly anticipated clip. In one picture, Bieber is seen kissing a dark-haired lady's hand. In addition to getting cozy with the pretty lady, Bieber jumps into a convertible on a set with a few muscle cars. <a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1617615"><img src="http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/s/spotted/banner/spotted.jpg"></a> If fans are worried about what girlfriend Selena Gomez might think of Bieber being affectionate with his onscreen co-star, they shouldn't worry. Gomez reportedly stopped by the set to visit her BF, according to <a href="http://www.gossipcop.com/justin-bieber-boyfriend-set-photos-selena-gomez-lookalike-pics-video/" target="_blank">Gossipcop.com</a>, and the pair shared in a few offscreen kisses. Justin has been hard <a href="/news/articles/1683042/justin-bieber-boyfriend-buzz-lightyear.jhtml">at work on his "Boyfriend" video</a> for a while now. And he made it clear to MTV News that despite the song's lyrics, he won't be donning any costumes in the Colin Tilley-directed video. "I won't be dressed up as Buzz Lightyear," he said. "I think there's some copyright issues; I can't use that." The new stills give fans another glimpse of what to expect from the video, which have up until now mostly been teases of the singer in shadow or with only a black backdrop behind him as women put their hands all over him. Well, Bieber's girlfriend, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/gomez__selena/artist.jhtml">Selena Gomez</a>, has heard it and she gives it two thumbs up. "It's beautiful," she told <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/marc_malkin/selena_gomez_boyfriend_justin_bieber/310269#ixzz1saEUoQmT" target="_blank">E! News</a> about the collaboration for Bieber's June release, Believe. "I don't know if it's going to make it on the record, but it is beautiful." Whether or not it makes the cut, Swift is only one of many artists — including Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and Bieber's pals Kanye West and Drake — who have hit the studio with the Biebs.
